Sonic Transformed Review
Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed
The sequel to Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing, Sonic and his friends return to cart race again. This time around, you also take to the seas and the air, as the cars now turn into boats and planes. A very unique concept to compete with Mario’s cart racing series.Does it still hold up?
This is the general roster of characters. Here, I’m showing the PS3 version. The Xbox 360 version includes the Avatar, the Wii U version includes the Mii, and the PC version includes lots of exclusive characters like Team Fortress and Football Manager. All the general characters are:
- Sonic
- Tails
- Knuckles
- Aiai
- Beat
- Amy Rose
- B.D.Joe
- Mimi
- Ulala
- Wreck-It Ralph (first guest character)
- Amigo
- Danica Patrick (second Guest character)
- Shadow
- Vyse
- Dr. Eggman
- NiGHTS
- Gum
- Joe Musashi
- Pudding
- Gilius
- Reala
- AGES
- Alex Kidd (unlocked on christmas)
- Metal Sonic (DLC)
My favorite character besides the avatar is Reala. Like NiGHTS, he transforms into the vehicles, but I like Reala more because he is faster than NiGHTS and is totally wicked. This guy creeps me out sometimes, especially his voice.
Guest Characters
The first guest character is Wreck-it Ralph from the Disney/Pixar movie of the same name. He is readily available at the very start of the game. I’m really glad they added him. He’s really funny and his vehicle is crazy fast. His truck even becomes playable in Disney Infinity! I thought that was really awesome.
Danica Patrick is the second guest character. She can be unlocked in World Tour mode. Her car is pretty cool, but it does feel kinda weird seeing her in the game.
Stages
There are plenty of stages to choose from. Some of them terraform and change the track. Here’s one of my favorite stages, Adder’s Lair. It’s got a little of everything. Driving, boating, flying, danger, lava, jumps, and more danger. There’s even 4 tracks from the previous game to race in.
I still enjoy this game. I just wish there was a little more content, like more racers on consoles and more tracks. But still, give this game a try. It gets 4 out of 5 stars from me.
