Disney Infinity Play set review: Marvel Battlegrounds
When Marvel first came to Disney Infinity, it was a mess. Then 3.0 comes in with a new Marvel play set, Marvel Battlegrounds. It is a battle royale style fighting game with a nice variety of game modes to play.
Loki, the trickster god is at it again! This time, he has teamed up with Ultron to create robotic duplicates of earth’s mightiest heroes. Now a new team of heroes must band together to fix this mess.
This game really makes you feel like you’re in the comic book world! Marvel Battlegrounds is a free-roaming stage battle with a fixed camera, where you can fight up close or from a distance, throw various objects or your opponents, or use the stage to your advantage to knock out your rivals. Some stages change and can be destroyed. Marvel Battlegrounds has a story mode which you can play over and over again, challenges with different rules, and a local multiplayer mode. You can collect experience, which goes into a bank. You can then transfer the experience to any Marvel character, which is great for leveling up your new heroes. You can also collect trial tokens so you can play as a character you don’t own yet. Overall, Marvel Battelgrounds is a fun, action packed fighting game, but it would have been nice to have an online feature. I give it a 4 out of 5 stars.
Captain America- The First Avenger
Along with the play set, you also get a new Captain America figure, which is different from the Disney Infinity 2.0 version one. This Captain America is inspired from the new Captain America: Civil War movie. He uses his powerful shield as a throwing weapon and as a mean of defense from enemy attacks. The shield can reflect blaster shots, knock enemies unconscious, and can hit multiple enemies when upgraded. He has a powerful finisher where he charges right at the enemy. For his special move, he calls in a laser strike that hits his shield. the shining rays hit enemies around him. Captain America- The First Avenger is a strong, strategic fighter, so know when to stay at a distance and when to get up close and fight.
