Disney Infinity Play set Review: Toy Story in Space
Toy Story has been one of my favorite PIXAR movies as far back when it was first released. It always did bring a since of wonder to me, seeing what toys do while you are away. In Disney Infinity 1.0, a Toy Story play set was made. Toy Story in Space takes place on an alien planet, where it’s play time, all the time. But when the Evil Emperor Zurg threatens to take over the planet, it is up to Buzz, Woody, and Jessie to save the world from the impending doom.
In Toy Story in Space, you take control of either Buzz Lightyear, Sheriff Woody, or cowgirl Jessie, as you ride horses, build an alien civilization, use growing and shrinking guns, and even play in a combat simulator, as you help the aliens in their time of need. The Toy Story in Space play set has more challenging challenges that’ll push your gaming skills to the limit. My only complaint is that all 3 characters have the same attacks. Just a shoulder tackle and throwing the PIXAR ball. I would have liked to have seen more variety in the combat, like Buzz shooting his laser and using his karate chop action. On the other hand, you do get some very useful tools and packs for the play set and toy boxes (depending on which Disney Infinity game you have). Overall, Toy Story in Space gets 3.75 out of 5 stars.
These are all 3 of the Toy Story characters in the game: Buzz Lightyear and Jessie are in the Toy Story in Space play set pack, while Woody is sold separately. As I’ve said before, their attacks are the same. You’re better off equipping them with melee weapons and blasters.
Stats of each character
If you’re interested, there is also a Crystal version of Buzz Lightyear. He is sold separately, or in the Space Race pack that includes Crystal Lightning McQueen (which I forgot to mention in my Cars Play Set review).
